Indian Coast Guard DB/GD/Yantrik 02/2021 exam dates have been released. It will be hosted by the ICG'(CDAC)'s entrance exam is a gateway for aspirants who want to pursue a career in the Indian Coast Guard. This national-level test is conducted twice each year. Candidates must first qualify for the Written Examination with the least qualifying marks and then appear in the Physical Round to enter the ICG as GD/DB/Yantrik. After clearing the Physical round, eligible candidates will go through a medical examination and document verification process. 1.Yantrik (Technical) 
  • 10th Exam Passed with Minimum 50% Marks.
  • & Passed Three Year Polytechnic Engineering Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical / Electronics and Telecommunication with Minimum 50% Marks.
2. General Duty (GD)
  • 10+2 Exam Passed with Math and Physics Subject with Minimum 50% Marks.
3. Domestic Branch (DB)
  • 10th Exam Passed with Minimum 50% Marks.

Navik (General Duty) serves onboard ships and ashore for various duties, as an Enrolled Personnel. Navik (GD) candidates are allotted specialization trade on completion of basic training at INS Chilka. The trades/ specialization is allotted on the performance of the candidate in the training and the requirement of the service.

    Yantrik serves on-board ships and aircraft as per the branch allocated to them {Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics / Telecommunication (Radio/Power)} at INS Chilka. They are responsible to maintain all types of the machinery/ equipment fitted on-board Ships/ Aircraft/ Station. They are also required to maintain the adequate level of spares and accounting of the spares.

    The Navik (Domestic Branch) provide logistics support to the Ships Company onboard ship and ashore as Cook & Steward as mentioned below:
    • Cook: They would be required to prepare food as per menu (both vegetarian and non-vegetarian including handling of meat products) and accounting of ration. In addition, they will also be allotted other duties for efficient running of the organisation.
    • Steward: They would be required to serve food in the Officer’s mess as waiters, housekeeping, maintenance and accounting of funds, wine and stores handling, preparation of menu etc. In addition, they will also be allotted other duties for efficient running of the organisation.

    3. Domestic Branch (DB)

    There is no negative marking for all trades.

    Marking Pattern For ICG Exam
    • All question have four choices out of which only one is correct.
    • One mark for every correct answer. 
    • Nil (0) marks for unattempted question. 
    • There is no negative marking.
