Indian Air Force are invites for the courses\ commencing in july 2020 for Flying Branches/Permanent Commission [PC] and [Short Service Commissio] in Ground Duty [Technical/Non-Technical] branche. STEP 1 – RESPOND TO ADVERTISEMENT FOLLOW BY WRITTEN TEST
1. For NDA and CDSE
- The advertisement for National Defance Accedmy is release twice one year in the month of June and December and for CDSE in the month of July and November by UPSC.
- Candidates are to apply as per the advertisement.
- The written tests are conducted by UPSC only. For details visit UPSC Official Web.
2. AFCAT – Air Force Common Admission Test.
- For all entry other than NDA and CDSe and for all branches , Candidate have to un dergo the AFCAT.
- The test is conducted two times in a year in February and August
- Advertisement inviting application for AFCAT are in June and December. Candidates are to apply as per the advertisements.
- The test is conducte all across the India by Indian Air Force.
3. NCC entry
- Air Squadron NCC Senior division "C" certificate holders are to applying through DG NCC and respective NCC AIR SQUADRON.
STEP-: 2. Services Selection Board Test-: if you have successfull cleared Step 1st , you will be received a call letter to reported to any one of the Air Force Selection Board located at Dehradun, Varanasi, Gandhinagar, Mysore and Kancharapara and other. At the Indian Air Force Selection Board, You un dergo following tests in order to ascertain your suitabilities and gauge Your potential as An Officer in Indian Air Force.
1. Stage I Testing
- Officer Intelligence rating Test
- Picture perception and Discussion Test
Stage I is a screening test. Those who qualifing, Stage-I are eligible to the un dergo Stage II test. Stage I disqualify candidates are route back after announcement of result.
2. Stage II Testing
All Stage I qualify candidate un dergo following test as part of Stage II testing during next 3 to 4 days

- Psychological Tests are written test that are conduct by a Psychologist.
- Group Test are inter active indoor and outdoor activities which are a combination of Mentalness and Physical work.
- Interview involve a personal conversation with an Interview Officer.
These test will be explained to you in detail before they are conducted at the selection board.

* Pilot Aptituded Battery Test (PABT) is a unique test. It 's aimed at assessing a candidate’s aptitude to be trained as a Pilot.Pilot Aptituded Battery Test (PABT) is being used as an independent selection device to induct potential officers into Flying Branch of Indian Air Force. Pilot Aptituded Battery Test (PABT) comprises three tests viz Instrument Battery Test (INSB), Sensory Motor Apparatus Test (SMA) and Control Velocity Test (CVT). INSB (Instruments Battery Test ) is a paper pencil test and other two are machine test. The Instruments Battery Test (INSB) comprises two parts. This test assesses assimilation of the briefy and the abilities of an individual to read and interpret the dial of an instrument panel of an Air Craft. The candidate who score the minimum laid down criterias are subject to the machine test. The machine test includes Sensory Motor Apparatus Test and (CVT) Control Velocity Test. These tests measure the psychomotor co-ordination skill of the individual. These test are conducted on a single day and administered only once in life time.
At the Conference held on the last day, all the Assessors i.e. the Psychologist, ground testing officer and the Interview officer, discuss your personalities and decided on whether to recommended you or not. Those recommend by the AFSBS will be requireded to fill up certain document at the boards and subsequently move to the next step.
STEP 3 - CONDUCT OF MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS
If you are recommend by the Selection Board [SB], you will be sent for the medical examination either at Air Force Central Medical Establishment , new Delhi or Institutes of Aviation Medicine, Bengaluru and other.
STEP 4 - PREPARING ALL INDIA MERIT LIST
An all India merit list is compiled on the basis of your performance in the written test and AFSSB interview, subjected to being medically fit. Base of the vacancy available in various branches and sub branches, joining instruction are issued to join one of the training establishmented.

➣Conduct of Online Testing For AFCAT Examination And Fee Structure
Online test will be conduct for AFCAT entries at variouses centers. Candidates registered for AFCAT entries will have to paying amount of Rs.250/- as Fxamination Fee. However, candidates registered for NCC special entry are not requireded to pay.
➣Physical Conditioning
You are advised to be physically fitness when you
reported for [SSB] in ordered to be able to un dergo the test at AFSB. You should aim to
achieve an abilities to run 01 mile [1.6 km] in 10 mins, do 10 pushups and 3 chin
ups. Prospectived candidates are also advised to keep themself in good physical
condition to adapt to physical training at AFA which encompassesed running, swimming, rope climbing and other forms of physical training/ conditioning in which they
would un dergo mandatories tests during training.
➣Training
Training will be commence in the first week of July 2020 for all course at
Air Force Academy Dundigal [Hyderabad]. The duration of training for flying branches and ground duty [Technical] branche is 74 weeks and that of ground duty [NonTechnical] Branches is 52 weeks at Air Force Training Establishments [AFTE]. PAN Card
and account in SBI & Nationalised Bank is mandatories at the time of joining Air Force
Academy. Aadhaar Card is mandatory for registration.
